If you are like me and like to follow all the latest beauty trends gushing all over Instagram then you must know what a jade roller is, and how every beauty guru insists on having one whenever explaining his/her beauty routine but there are some people who insist that jade rollers are not really effective which is the antithesis of what beauty gurus prefer. But the real question is who is stating the truth. Jade rollers are cylindrical stones attached at the end of an apparatus. It is basically used to massage the face, typically stored in the refrigerator it helps with puffiness of the skin and on a long term basis, it is believed to increase collagen production in the skin and help with inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

When reviewed by the dermatologists it was found that it actually helps with the inflammation on your skin but the fact is that a spoon stored in a refrigerator will have the same effect on the skin if you use it on your face. You might see a post-massage glow on your face but it temporary and will wear off in a few minutes. If talking technically whenever you massage your face you are basically massaging the tissues under your skin and when you do that you are just increasing the circulation of blood which may result in more youthful, bright and luminous. But it doesn’t mean that jade rollers can treat conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Jade rollers came into the spotlight in 2018 when it came into everybody’s attention that jade rollers were a part of skin care regimen of Chinese women in the 17th century during the Qing Dynasty. But I think it is safe to say that jade rollers don’t deserve the hype they are getting these days since I can have the same effect by freezing a spoon in the fridge. The truth is that there are few things that actually have a good effect on your skin but it doesn’t mean if a thing has been on this earth for thousands of years it is useful. My verdict is to spend your money wisely but don’t hesitate to try anything you think might work for you.
